A New Song for the Month!

On Friday, we cut apples in half and did apple prints.

Above is a picture of one of our many fall activities we did around exploring apples.  Thank you parents for bringing in apples as requested.  The children were able to sort them, count them and talk about the many varieties.

The Importance of Singing

Math - Sorting

Building a complex mathematical foundation begins in the early childhood years.  Classifying and sorting objects are the major part of the foundation.  These important skills help children to begin to observe how things are alike and different, an awareness that is essential to early math learning.

Sorting can take months to master.  We plan activities which give children the opportunity to sort, classify, and order objects by color, size, shape, and a variety of other attributes.  It is important that children have plenty of practice developing this skill.

Thank you for your patience as we researched how to set up a classroom blog.  We are very excited about sharing with you what happens in our classroom and other information we think you will find interesting.
